The air-supported dam, also known as the pneumatic shield gate or eco-airbag-supported dam, is an innovative hydraulic structure that combines the features of rubber dams and steel gate dams. It consists of a set of steel shield plates, a set of airbags, a row of foundation anchor bolts, and a pneumatic inflation and deflation system. The air-supported dam utilizes air as the inflation medium to support the water-blocking shield plates, enabling river water storage and elevation of the water level. This new type of movable dam provides both water storage safety and seamless adjustment of water levels, making it an eco-friendly thin-walled dam.
